MASS TORT LIEN RESOLUTION

3M Earplug Lien Resolution

From 2003 -2015, 3M sold and distributed earplugs to thousands of service members deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Veterans who were exposed to blasts during this time period may have incurred hearing loss which compromises the ear and the connection between the ear and the brain. Typical plaintiffs in these cases are veterans between the ages of 30 and 49 who served in the military and allege a combination of tinnitus and hearing loss. With over 230,000 claimants registered in the MDL as of April 2021, this is the biggest MDL plaintiff group in American history. Military healthcare plans, such as VA and Tricare, and private insurance plans make up the vast majority of healthcare insurance plans to be considered as part of this litigation.
